I first got hooked on this idea when I purchased a similar brand name product in red. They were sold out and I opted for this instead. I was actually pleasantly surprised as I find this to be a better product. We all hate smelly sponges and my grandmother always used a dish cloth and then she'd machine wash them. (keep in mind she ironed sheets too! :o) What makes this orange product superior to the red brand name is that it's a bit thinner, in other words you can wring it out better and it dries quickly resulting in no smell. The textured side is for scrubbing dishes and is highly useful for non-stick cookware. I highly recommend this product.
